Program

Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month from

January, March to June and again in September to November.

Note: There are no meetings in February, July and August

The location for the meetings is the Greenboro

Community Centre (co-housed with Greenboro District Library),

363 Lorry Greenberg Drive (situated between Hunt Club Road and

Join us for one free meeting, or be a return guest for $5.00 per meeting, which can be applied toward your membership if you decide to join later.

January 17: Christine Gordon will talk about the garden recently constructed at the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice in Kanata, a community project supported by GOWGHS and done in partnership with the Kanata March Horticultural Society

February: **No Meeting**

 

March 21: Gees Bees

April 18: "My Luscious Lucrezias; Some Poisonous Plants to Just Die For” with Brian Carson.

May 16: Fish: Jewels of the Pond: Alex Vyse, formerly of Big Al's and on our WGTour in 2013, will speak, from his 15 years experience, about fish basics---types of pond fish and their needs, as well as the philosophy and history behind practices and trends in the Koi keeping world.

June 20: Richard Inchley, our local expert, will provide information on the best plants for your pond. He will also have a selection of plants available for purchase.

July and August: No Meetings

September 19: Newer perennials and woody shrubs. How do they really fare? by Mary Shearman Reid of Green Thumb Garden Centre.

October 17: GOWGHS First Harvest Fest, Recognition Night, and Annual General Meeting.

November 21: An introduction to Bonsai. A short look at the history, styles, basic techniques and maintenance of bonsai through a power point presentation as well as with a few samples from the hobbyist's collection with Daniel Shelton.

December: Christmas Social (more information to come)
